When we talk about library, one can imagine it as a building with shelves and shelves of books and a librarian whose job are to keep the order in the library. Whether by asking noisy readers to remain silent or making sure the books are in the right places. It’s also the place to borrow and return some books, keeping the books dust and mold free via regular maintenance. And a sweet spot to study and read for hours. However, this perception is considered to be old school in this modern era. Like an iceberg floating on the sea, there is more to a library than you can imagine.

Thus, strong research skill and knowledge transfer play a big role in librarian’s job. Also to ensure that the people acquire the right information and restrict the ones that are classified as confidential for the public.
In some countries, the interest to voluntarily lend books from the library is extremely low. This is caused by the utilization of internet in finding any information in any time, at any place. However, with all of the information laid on a silver platter, people still underestimate the essence of screening information in the first place, due to the feeling that the information is safe inside their gadgets and can be accessed any time they want, thus resulting in procrastination.
In rural places where books are scarce, the presence of mobile library is considered to be life-changing. The library in this modern era is shifting from fixed physical building into a recreational space where meetings and discussions happen. Media for the users to acquire the skills needed in 21st century, and educational projects take place.
During the 1996s, a library provides a free course to learn about computer for public when computer is considered as novel invention in that time. Currently, it is more than possible to keep the library alive through knowledge transfer activities. Also by giving communities a place in the library to share their knowledge. For example, to celebrate International Tea Day on 21st May, local tea beverage entrepreneur, tea grading expert.
